Welcome! The upcoming "International Village - Year of the Tiger Celebration" will be a very exciting experience for the City of Vancouver because it will take place during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Thousands of people will attend a variety of Olympic events at GM Place, B.C. Place, and the Olympic Village, all of which are located within walking distance of International Village. The "Year of the Tiger Celebration" will attract the attention of Olympic spectators, and offer them cultural entertainment to experience between Olympic sporting events.

The "Year of the Tiger Celebration" is a unification of many cultures and ethnicities. Cultural entertainment groups from Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia, plus other countries, will be invited to perform their unique celebrations of the New Year.

The event will offer a variety of arts and crafts displays, plus gourmet food and specialties for visitors to touch, feel, learn and enjoy. The multi-cultural aspect of the event appeals to a wide variety of people and helps foster stronger cultural exchange and harmony among the different ethnic groups. It is a remarkable showcase of sight, sound, and taste that spans three exciting days.

Another unique feature of the event is its exclusive affiliation with the Vancouver Chinatown Parade - one of the largest in Vancouver that attracts over 60,000 viewers annually. The "Year of the Tiger Celebration" will host a parade reception featuring renowned politicians from three levels of government as well as other VIPs.

Last year the "Year of the Ox Celebration" attracted approximately 150,000 people; we anticipate the 2010 event to attract even more.
